The 4 Biggest Wedding Flower Stress Triggers (and How to Avoid Them)

You’d think choosing flowers would be one of the fun parts of wedding planning, right? But for so many couples, it turns into a chore, with late-night Pinterest scrolling, endless colour swatches, and the nagging fear that it will all look mismatched on the day. Not to mention the logistics; deliveries, set-up, pack-down,  and suddenly your “dream flowers” start feeling like they might just be a nightmare!

It doesn’t have to be this way.

With the right florist, planning your wedding flowers will feel calm, creative, and even exciting again.

In my experience with couples (just like you), here’s what typically causes floral stress,  and how I work to make sure you avoid every single one of these headaches.

Stress Point 1: Pinterest Overload

It’s easy to get lost in an endless scroll of archways, bouquets, and tablescapes, until everything starts to look the same and you can’t tell what you actually like anymore.

My Fix: I’ll help you cut through the noise with a guided design process. We’ll look at your colour palette, your venue, your personality, and create something that feels uniquely yours, not copied from someone else’s wedding. It’s got to tell your LOVE story alone.

Stress Point 2: “Will It All Match?” cue Panic

Many couples worry that their flowers, outfits, and décor won’t flow together on the day.

My Fix: I’ll create a clear floral design plan that ties every element together. From bouquets to buttonholes to table arrangements, everything will feel cohesive and, most importantly intentional. You’ll see a mood board and colour story before a single bloom is ordered.

Stress Point 3: Logistics Anxiety

When do flowers get delivered? Who sets them up? What happens to them after the party? These questions can keep couples awake at night,  but they shouldn’t.

My Fix: I’ll take care of it all . You’re not supposed to know the answers to all of this! How many times have you planned a big event? likely this is your very first big event! Your wedding vendors are not expecting you to have all of the logistical answers, that’s what we are here for…..to help and guide you through this process. From bump-in specifics, installation requirements, and bump-out must do’s, we got you!  We even plan for what happens after the event, whether that’s guests taking arrangements home or us donating them to a hospice on your behalf.

Stress Point 4: Sustainability Guilt

You’ve made the decision to invest in beautiful flowers, but you’re conscious of  our environment and the impact of big event styling! What I have learnt is that many couples don’t know where to start when it comes to eco-conscious choices.

My Fix: I design without floral foam, this has always been a non negotiable in my business. I love working with local NSW and Australian growers to source fresh seasonal blooms that are in their best condition, and I use eco-friendly packaging and materials. I am passionate about helping couples find ways to repurpose their flowers, making the most of their investment and ensuring their flowers bring as much joy to their day as possible.

It’s about being responsible at every step of the planning and design process, and that includes minimising waste.

Planning your wedding flowers should be joyful, not stressful. My goal is to give you the confidence that every detail is handled, so you can relax and actually enjoy the process. Together, we’ll create florals that feel like you, look incredible, and tell your love story beautifully, without the overwhelm.

“Kris was recommended to me by a close friend for wedding flowers and she did not disappoint. The wedding process was a bit daunting for me and Kris took the time to have a chat about styles, flower sustainability and budget. Kris was amazing to deal with throughout the whole engagement, is sustainable and super understanding and smiley to boot. Love what Kris did for us on the day and would recommend Kris to anyone looking for wedding flowers.”
